dc.description.abstractThis policy note presents evidence-based guidance for the effective design, implementation, and utilization of small-quantity lipid-based nutrient supplements (SQ-LNS) interventions in the Sahel region. SQ-LNS are food supplements containing essential nutrients and are intended for daily consumption alongside standard age-appropriate diets. SQ-LNS effectively prevent child undernutrition and improve child growth and development. The key recommendations for modifying SQ-LNS interventions in Sahel country contexts to maximize their impact on child health are presented in the report.en
dc.description.abstractCette note de politique présente des conseils fondés sur des faits probants en vue de la conception, la mise en œuvre et l’utilisation efficaces d’interventions avec des suppléments nutritionnels à base lipidique en petite quantité (Small-Quantity Lipid-based Nutrient Supplements – SQ-LNS) dans la région du Sahel. Les SQ-LNS sont des suppléments alimentaires contenant des nutriments essentiels conçus pour une consommation quotidienne, en association avec des régimes alimentaires standards adaptés à l’âge. Ils préviennent efficacement la sous-nutrition infantile et améliorent la croissance et le développement de l’enfant. Cette note de présente les principales recommandations visant à modifier les interventions avec des SQ-LNS afin d’optimiser leur impact sur la santé des enfants dans le contexte des pays du Sahel.fr
