dc.description.abstractThe Gabon Economic Update is an annual World Bank publication that presents an overview of the evolving macroeconomic position in Gabon, followed by a detailed exploration of a specific topic in each edition. The first chapter analyzes recent economic developments, as well as the macroeconomic outlook and risks for Gabon’s future growth. It presents policy actions that could help strengthen fiscal and debt sustainability, contain food inflation, and sustain a resilient growth path. The second chapter of this year’s Economic Update has a special focus dedicated to fossil fuel subsidies, which represent a growing fiscal burden in Gabon. This chapter analyzes the costs of fuel subsidies and discusses policy options for alleviating their fiscal impact while protecting the most vulnerable groups in the country. en
dc.description.abstractLa Note de conjoncture économique du Gabon est une publication annuelle de la Banque mondiale qui présente dans chaque édition d’une part, un aperçu de l’évolution de la situation macroéconomique du Gabon, puis d’autre part, une étude détaillée portant sur un thème spécial. Le premier chapitre de cette Note de conjoncture économique analyse l’évolution économique récente, ainsi que les perspectives macroéconomiques et les risques qui pèsent sur la croissance future du Gabon. Le rapport présente des actions et des politiques qui pourraient contribuer à renforcer la viabilité budgétaire et celle de la dette, à contenir l’inflation et à maintenir une trajectoire de croissance résiliente. Le deuxième chapitre, quant à lui, met l’accent sur les subventions aux carburants qui représentent une charge budgétaire croissante au Gabon. Ce second chapitre analyse le coût des subventions aux carburants et examine les options de réformes qui permettraient d’atténuer leur impact budgétaire tout en protégeant les groupes de population les plus vulnérables du pays. fr
