dc.description.abstractThe Argentina Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) explores opportunities and identifies trade-offs for aligning Argentina’s growth and poverty reduction policies with its commitments on, and its ability to withstand, climate change. It assesses how the country can: reduce its vulnerability to climate shocks through targeted public and private investments and adequation of social protection. The report also shows how Argentina can seize the benefits of a global decarbonization path to sustain a more robust economic growth through further development of Argentina’s potential for renewable energy, energy efficiency actions, the lithium value chain, as well as climate-smart agriculture (and land use) options. Given Argentina’s context, this CCDR focuses on win-win policies and investments, which have large co-benefits or can contribute to raising the country’s growth while helping to adapt the economy, also considering how human capital actions can accompany a just transition.en
dc.description.abstractEl Informe de Clima y Desarrollo de País para Argentina (CCDR) explora oportunidades e identifica compensaciones para alinear las políticas de crecimiento y reducción de la pobreza de Argentina con sus compromisos y su capacidad para resistir el cambio climático. Evalúa cómo el país puede reducir su vulnerabilidad a los shocks climáticos a través de inversiones públicas y privadas específicas, y la adecuación de la protección social. El informe también muestra cómo Argentina puede aprovechar los beneficios de la tendencia de descarbonización global para sostener un crecimiento económico más sólido a través de un mayor desarrollo del potencial de Argentina para la energía renovable, acciones de eficiencia energética, la cadena de valor del litio, así como la agricultura climáticamente inteligente (y el uso sostenible de la tierra). Dado el contexto de Argentina, esta CCDR se enfoca en políticas e inversiones ganar-ganar, que tienen grandes co-beneficios o pueden contribuir a elevar el crecimiento del país mientras ayudan a adaptar la economía, considerando también cómo las acciones de capital humano pueden acompañar una transición justa.es
