Biography
Dr. James Gerber is a Principal Research Scientist at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment. His research develops solutions for improving global food security while minimizing agriculture’s impact on earth’s ecosystems. He has published broadly on the topic of agriculture’s impact on Earth’s ecosystems, food security and the interrelation of climate variability, crop yields, and systemic trends in food security. Dr. Gerber was a lead author for the 6th assessment of the International Panel on Climate Change with a focus on development pathways.
