Person: Soh, Hoon Sahib
| authorProfile.biography | Hoon Sahib Soh is an economist and manager with more than 23 years of experience at the World Bank. He is currently the World Bank Macroeconomics, Trade, Investments and Public Sector practice manager for the South Asia Region. He manages a large and diverse portfolio of lending projects and analytical and technical assistance engagements in India, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. Previously, he was the manager of the World Bank Group Korea Office. Mr. Soh oversaw the transformation of the Korea Office to a Global Innovation and Technology Center for Sustainable Development. Before the Korea office, he was previously at the World Bank’s Beijing Office, as the World Bank program leader for the Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions Practice Group, responsible for supervising work related to economic policy and institutions in China and Mongolia. His publications include Innovative China: New Drivers of Growth and China Systematic Country Diagnostics: Towards a More Inclusive and Sustainable Development. Soh joined the World Bank in 2000 as a Young Professional Since then, he has worked in regional departments (Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, and Latin America and Caribbean,) as an economist and in the corporate policy unit. Before joining the World Bank, he worked in Korea at the POSCO Research Institute and the Arthur D. Little consulting firm. Soh holds a PhD in economics from Stanford University. | |
