World Bank2012-03-192012-03-192009-12-22https://hdl.handle.net/10986/3185This Investment Climate Assessment (ICA) uses a robust methodology that draws on a representative sample of 484 formal firms and 120 informal establishments. The sample covers small-medium enterprises (SMEs) and large firms in both manufacturing and services. Weights were used in the analysis of the data to ensure full representativeness of the results. Although the sample is large, sample non?response could invalidate the results of the analysis-especially for more sensitive questions on corruption, taxes, or sales. In order to reduce such possibilities, strict quality control procedures have been applied during the data collection process. These controls led to an overall response rate of above 90 percent.CC BY 3.0 IGOACCESS TO CREDITACCESS TO FINANCEACCESSIBILITYACCOUNTINGACCOUNTS RECEIVABLEAFFILIATESAFFORDABILITYASSET FINANCINGAVAILABILITY OF CREDITBALANCE SHEETBALANCE SHEET GROWTHBANK CREDITBANK DEPOSITBANK LENDINGBANK LOANSBANK OF MAURITIUSBANKING INDUSTRYBANKING SECTORBANKING SYSTEMBANKING SYSTEMSBANKSBINDING CONSTRAINTBOOK VALUEBORROWINGBUDGETINGBUREAUCRATIC OBSTACLESBUSINESS ACTIVITIESBUSINESS ACTIVITYBUSINESS COLLATERALBUSINESS INFORMATIONBUSINESS PLANBUSINESS RELATIONSCAPITAL ADEQUACYCAPITAL FINANCECAPITAL FORMATIONCAPITAL MARKETSCASH FLOWSCHECKING ACCOUNTCOLLATERALCOLLATERAL REQUIREMENTSCOLLECTION PROCESSCOMMERCIAL BANKCOMMERCIAL BANKINGCOMMERCIAL BANKSCOMPETITIVE ECONOMYCORRUPTIONCOUNTRY COMPARISONSCREDIT ACCESSCREDIT BUREAUSCREDIT INFORMATIONCREDIT INFORMATION BUREAUSCREDIT INFORMATION SYSTEMSCREDIT LINESCREDITORSDEPOSITSDEVELOPING COUNTRIESDEVELOPMENT BANKDIVERSIFICATIONDOMESTIC CREDITECONOMIC ACTIVITIESECONOMIC AGENTSECONOMIC CRISISECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTECONOMIC GROWTHECONOMIC POLICIESECONOMIC REFORMEDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENTEMPLOYMENT GROWTHEMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIESENTREPRENEURSENTREPRENEURSHIPEQUAL ACCESSEQUIPMENTEXCHANGE RATEEXPENDITUREEXPENDITURESEXPORT EARNINGSEXPORTEREXPORTERSEXTERNAL FINANCEEXTERNAL FINANCINGEXTERNAL SHOCKSFINANCE COMPANIESFINANCIAL ACCESSFINANCIAL CRISISFINANCIAL DEPTHFINANCIAL DEVELOPMENTFINANCIAL DIFFICULTYFINANCIAL INSTITUTIONSFINANCIAL INTERMEDIARIESFINANCIAL INTERMEDIATIONFINANCIAL LIBERALIZATIONFINANCIAL LITERACYFINANCIAL MANAGEMENTFINANCIAL MARKETSFINANCIAL PRODUCTSFINANCIAL RESOURCESFINANCIAL SECTOR REFORMSFINANCIAL SERVICEFINANCIAL SERVICESFINANCIAL STRUCTUREFINANCIAL SYSTEMFINANCIAL SYSTEMSFINANCING NEEDSFIRM PERFORMANCEFISCAL DEFICITFISCAL DISCIPLINEFISCAL POLICYFIXED ASSETFIXED ASSETSFIXED CAPITALFOREIGN ASSETSFOREIGN BANKSFOREIGN CURRENCYFOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTFOREIGN EXCHANGEFOREIGN FIRMSFORM OF COLLATERALGENDERGLOBAL ECONOMYGOVERNMENT POLICIESGROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCTHOLDINGHOUSEHOLDSHUMAN CAPITALHUMAN RESOURCEHUMAN RESOURCESINCOMEINDUSTRIAL RELATIONSINFLATIONINFORMATION TECHNOLOGYINFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENTINNOVATIONINSURANCEINTEREST RATEINTEREST RATESINTERNAL FUNDSINTERNATIONAL MARKETSINTERNATIONAL STANDARDSINTERNATIONAL TRADEINVENTORIESINVENTORYINVESTMENT ACCESSINVESTMENT CLIMATEINVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIESJOB CREATIONLABOR COSTSLABOR FORCELABOR MARKETLABOR MARKETSLABOR MOBILITYLABOR PRODUCTIVITYLABOR REGULATIONSLABOR SHORTAGELABOR SHORTAGESLAWSLEGAL PROVISIONSLEGISLATIONLINE OF CREDITLINES OF CREDITLIQUIDATIONLIQUIDITYLOANLOAN APPLICATIONSLOAN DELINQUENCIESMACROECONOMIC POLICIESMONETARY POLICYMOVABLE PROPERTYNATURAL RESOURCESNEW MARKETSNOMINAL WAGESOPERATING COSTSOVERDRAFTOVERDRAFTSPARTIAL RISKPORTFOLIOPRIVATE CREDITPRIVATE INVESTMENTPRIVATIZATIONPRODUCTION PROCESSPRODUCTIVITYPROFITABILITYPROPERTY RIGHTSRE-INVESTMENTREAL ESTATEREAL SECTORRECEIPTRECESSIONREGULATORY SYSTEMSRETAINED EARNINGSRISK MANAGEMENTSAFETYSAVINGSSMALL BORROWERSSOCIAL INCLUSIONSOCIAL WELFARESOURCES OF FINANCESTART-UPSSUBSIDIARIESSUBSIDIARYSUPPLIERSSUPPLY CHAINSUPPLY CHAINSTARIFF BARRIERSTAXTAX ADMINISTRATIONTAX EXEMPTIONSTAXATIONTECHNICAL ASSISTANCETELECOMMUNICATIONSTEMPORARY EMPLOYMENTTRADE CREDITTRADE FLOWSTRADE LIBERALIZATIONTRANSACTIONS COSTSTRANSPARENCYTRANSPORTUNEMPLOYEDUNEMPLOYMENTUNEMPLOYMENT RATEUNIONUNSKILLED LABORVALUE OF COLLATERALVENTURE CAPITALISTSWAGESWORKING CAPITALMauritius - Investment Climate AssessmentWorld Bank10.1596/3185
