Hussain, ZahidRizwan, Nadeem2014-12-082014-12-082014-10https://hdl.handle.net/10986/20669Progress on reducing extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity through human development and employment generation has continued. This needs to be further consolidated in the near-term by sustaining Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and remittances growth recovery, creating jobs, containing inflation, and making progress on improving the quality of service delivery in health and education. To sustain growth in the near- and medium-term, private investments need to increase significantly. At the same time, the quality of public investment needs to be substantially enhanced to alleviate the infrastructure constraints on private investments and to expand service delivery. Moving forward in the immediate future, stronger attention is needed to (a) swiftly complete the transition in the garment industry, (b) finish the critical ongoing road development projects, (c) enact the Public Private Partnership (PPP) law, and (d) award contracts to build Special Economic Zones (SEZs).en-USCC BY 3.0 IGOASSET QUALITYASSET VALUEAUCTIONAUCTIONSBALANCE OF PAYMENTBALANCE OF PAYMENTSBANK FINANCINGBANK RATEBANKING ASSETSBANKING SECTORBANKING SYSTEMBASIS POINTSBILLBINDING CONSTRAINTBLUE CHIPBONDSBROAD MONEYBUDGET DEFICITCAPACITY BUILDINGCAPITAL ACCOUNTCAPITAL ADEQUACYCAPITAL BASECAPITAL MARKETCASH FLOWCASH RESERVECASH RESERVE RATIOCOMMERCIAL BANKSCOMMODITY PRICESCOMPETITIVENESSCONSUMER GOODSCONSUMER INFLATIONCONSUMPTION DEMANDCORPORATE GOVERNANCECREDIBILITYCREDIT GROWTHCREDITORSCURRENT ACCOUNTCURRENT ACCOUNT BALANCECURRENT ACCOUNT SURPLUSDEBT MARKETSDEFICIT FINANCINGDEFICITSDEMAND FOR CREDITDEMAND FOR GOVERNMENT SECURITIESDEPOSITDEPOSITSDEVELOPMENT BANKDISBURSEMENTDISBURSEMENTSDOMESTIC BANKDOMESTIC CREDITDOMESTIC DEBTDOMESTIC MARKETECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTSECONOMIC GROWTHEMERGING ECONOMIESEMERGING ECONOMYEMERGING MARKETEMERGING MARKET ECONOMIESEMERGING MARKETSEQUIPMENTEQUITY INVESTMENTEXCESS LIQUIDITYEXCESS SUPPLYEXCHANGE RATEEXCHANGE RATE APPRECIATIONEXCHANGE RATESEXPENDITUREEXPENDITURESEXPORT GROWTHEXPORT PERFORMANCEEXPORTEREXPORTERSEXPOSUREEXTERNAL DEBTFAIR VALUEFINANCESFINANCIAL ASSETSFINANCIAL MANAGEMENTFINANCIAL MARKETFINANCIAL MARKETSFISCAL DEFICITFISCAL POLICYFLOATING EXCHANGE RATEFOREIGN CURRENCIESFOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTFOREIGN EXCHANGEFOREIGN EXCHANGE MARKETFOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVEFOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVESFOREIGN FINANCINGFOREIGN INVESTMENTFOREIGN PORTFOLIO INVESTMENTGOVERNMENT BORROWINGGOVERNMENT BUDGETGOVERNMENT EXPENDITURESGROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCTGROWTH RATEHOLDINGHOUSEHOLD INCOMEHUMAN DEVELOPMENTIMPORTSINCOME GROWTHINCOME TAXINFLATIONINFLATIONARY PRESSURESINFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTINFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTSINTANGIBLEINTANGIBLE ASSETSINTEREST COSTSINTEREST PAYMENTSINTEREST RATEINTEREST RATE SPREADSINTEREST RATESINTERNATIONAL BORROWINGINTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENTINTERNATIONAL FINANCEINTERNATIONAL MARKETSINTERNATIONAL PRICEINTERNATIONAL STANDARDINTERNATIONAL STANDARDSINTERNATIONAL TRADEINVESTMENT ACTIVITIESINVESTMENT CLIMATEINVESTMENT FLOWSINVESTMENT RATEINVESTMENT RATESLABOR FORCELABOR MARKETLABOR STANDARDSLEGAL FRAMEWORKLENDERLENDER OF LAST RESORTLENDERSLENDING DECISIONSLEVEL OF RISKLIABILITYLIQUIDITYLOANLOAN CLASSIFICATIONLOCAL GOVERNMENTLOCAL GOVERNMENTSMACROECONOMIC MANAGEMENTMACROECONOMIC POLICIESMACROECONOMIC STABILITYMARKET RISKSMARKET SHAREMATURITIESMIDDLEMENMOBILE PHONEMONETARY POLICYMONEY TARGETSNATIONAL SAVINGSNOMINAL EXCHANGE RATENON-PERFORMING LOANSNONPERFORMING LOANSOIL PRICEOIL PRICESPERSONAL INCOMEPOLITICAL STABILITYPOLITICAL TURMOILPOLITICAL UNCERTAINTIESPOLITICAL UNCERTAINTYPOPULATION GROWTHPORTFOLIOPOVERTY REDUCTIONPRIVATE CREDITPRIVATE CREDIT GROWTHPRIVATE EQUITYPRIVATE INVESTMENTPRIVATE INVESTMENTSPRIVATE SECTOR CREDITPUBLIC BANKSPUBLIC DEBTPUBLIC INVESTMENTPUBLIC INVESTMENTSPURCHASING POWERREAL EFFECTIVE EXCHANGE RATEREGULATORY CAPACITYREMITTANCEREMITTANCESREPORESERVE ACCUMULATIONRESERVE MONEYRESERVE REQUIREMENTRESERVESRETURNRISK MANAGEMENTSAFETY NETSHORTFALLSHORTFALLSSOLVENCYSTATE BANKSSTOCK EXCHANGESTOCK MARKETSTOCK MARKETSSTOCKSSTRUCTURAL REFORMSSUPPLY CONDITIONSSUPPLY DISRUPTIONST-BILLSTAXTAX COLLECTIONTAX COLLECTIONSTAX EXEMPTIONTAX INCENTIVESTAX RATETAX RATESTRADE CREDITTRADE DEFICITTRADE LIBERALIZATIONTRADE UNIONTRADE UNIONSTRADINGTRANSPARENCYTREASURYTREASURY BILLSTRUST FUNDTRUST FUNDSTURNOVERUNEMPLOYMENT RATEUPWARD PRESSUREVALUATIONWARRANTSBangladesh Development Update, October 201410.1596/20669
