Recognizing the nature and significance of climate change contribution to an increase in disaster risk, the note also looks into the development partners' approaches and measures in this area. The note further provides a brief overview of Tajikistan's climate context in terms of observed impacts and historical trends as well as climate projections specific to sectors that are considered to be essential to the country's economic development. Finally, the note assesses national policy and institutional context related to climate change and suggests potential ways forward that could help Tajikistan mainstream low-carbon, climate-resilient development.en-USCC BY 3.0 IGOACCUMULATION OF CARBONADVERSE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGEAFFORESTATIONAGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIONAGRICULTURAL RESOURCEAGRICULTUREAIRAIR TEMPERATUREALLOCATIONALTITUDEANNUAL PRECIPITATIONBIODIVERSITYCAPACITY BUILDINGCIVIL SOCIETYCIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONSCLIMATECLIMATE ACTIONCLIMATE ADAPTATIONCLIMATE CHANGECLIMATE CHANGE ACTIVITIESCLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATIONCLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION STRATEGYCLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTSCLIMATE CHANGE ISSUESCLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATIONCLIMATE CHANGE POLICIESCLIMATE CHANGE POLICYCLIMATE CHANGE RISKSCLIMATE CHANGE SCENARIOSCLIMATE MODELSCLIMATE PARAMETERSCLIMATE POLICYCLIMATE PROJECTIONSCLIMATE REGULATIONCLIMATE RESILIENCECLIMATE RISKCLIMATE RISK ASSESSMENTSCLIMATE TRENDSCLIMATE VARIABILITYCLIMATE WARMSCLIMATE-RELATED HAZARDSCLIMATE-RELATED RISKSCLIMATE-SENSITIVE SECTORSCLIMATIC CONDITIONSCLIMATOLOGYCODAMAGESDECISION MAKERSDECISION MAKINGDESERTIFICATIONDESERTSDRINKING WATERDROUGHTECONOMIC ANALYSISECONOMIC COSTSELECTRICITYELECTRICITY DEMANDELECTRICITY SUPPLYEMISSIONSENERGY INFRASTRUCTUREENERGY SECURITYENVIRONMENTAL IMPLICATIONSENVIRONMENTAL LEGISLATIONENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTIONEVAPOTRANSPIRATIONEXTREME EVENTSEXTREME WEATHEREXTREME WEATHER EVENTSFINANCIAL CHALLENGESFINANCIAL CONDITIONFINANCIAL COOPERATIONFLOOD MANAGEMENTFLOOD RISKFLOOD RISK MANAGEMENTFLOODSFORAGEFOREST FIRESFOREST PLANTATIONSFOREST PROTECTIONFOREST RESERVESFORESTRYFORESTRY SECTORFORESTSFRAMEWORK CONVENTION ON CLIMATE CHANGEFRESH WATERFUELGHGGLACIAL MELTGLACIAL MELTWATERGLACIER MELTGLACIERSGLOBAL ENVIRONMENT FACILITYGLOBAL FORESTGLOBAL FOREST RESOURCESGLOBAL FOREST RESOURCES ASSESSMENTGREENHOUSEGREENHOUSE GASGREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONSHAILHYDROLOGYHYDROMETEOROLOGYHYDROPOWER DEVELOPMENTHYDROPOWER POTENTIALHYDROPOWER PROJECTICEICE MELTIMPORTSINCOMEINDICATORS OF CLIMATE CHANGEIRRIGATIONLAND MANAGEMENTLAND TENURELAND USELOAD SHEDDINGLOW-CARBONMANAGEMENT OF WATERMEAN TEMPERATUREMELTING GLACIERSNATIONAL CLIMATENATURAL RESOURCENATURAL RESOURCESPASTUREPASTURESPORTFOLIOPOWER SUPPLYPUBLIC WATERPUBLIC WATER SUPPLYRAINRAINFALLRANGELANDREGULATORY FRAMEWORKRENEWABLE ENERGYRENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCESRESOURCE ALLOCATIONRESOURCE USERISK MANAGEMENTRIVERRIVER BASINRIVER BASINSRIVERSRURAL LIVELIHOODRURAL LIVELIHOODSSANITATION INFRASTRUCTURESANITATION SERVICESSCIENTIFIC INFORMATIONSEASECTORAL MINISTRIESSERVICE DELIVERYSOILSOILSSTORMSSUMMER TEMPERATURESSUSTAINABLE FORESTSUSTAINABLE FOREST MANAGEMENTTEMPERATURETEMPERATURE INCREASETEMPERATURESTRANSPORT SECTORUSE OF WATERVULNERABILITY TO CLIMATE CHANGEWATER AVAILABILITYWATER DEVELOPMENTWATER INFLOWSWATER MANAGEMENTWATER POLICYWATER QUALITYWATER RESOURCEWATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENTWATER RESOURCESWATER SECTORWATER STRATEGYWATER SUPPLYWATER USEWATER UTILITIESWATERSWATERSHED MANAGEMENTWEATHER CONDITIONSWEATHER EXTREMESWINTER STORMSTajikistan : Overview of Climate Change Activities10.1596/17552
