World Bank Group2015-11-232015-11-232015-03-02https://hdl.handle.net/10986/23123Panama's economic growth has been at the top of the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region in recent years. The country s rapid growth has been largely pro-poor and translated into significant poverty reduction. The new Administration is well placed to tackle these challenges, with its commitment to maintaining an open and diversified economy and redressing social imbalances. Looking ahead, the country s main challenges are to maintain the current growth performance and ensure that its benefits are extended to all. The World Bank Group s (WBG) new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) seeks to support Panama s continued high growth, while ensuring inclusion and opportunities for marginalized groups, and bolstering resilience and sustainability. These themes are highlighted as priorities in the Government s 2014-2019 Strategic Development Plan (SDP) and in the WBG s Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD). The CPF seeks to maximize over a six-year period, the comparative advantages of the WBG, through packages of innovative public and private financing options based on cutting edge global knowledge and experience.en-USCC BY 3.0 IGOACCESS TO FINANCEACCESS TO JOBACCESS TO SERVICESACCESSIBILITYACCIDENT RATESACCOUNTINGADVISORY SERVICESAGRICULTURAL SECTORAIRAIR TRAVELAIRPORTAIRPORTSBANK PORTFOLIOBANKING SECTORBANKING SYSTEMBENEFICIARIESBENEFICIARYBINDING CONSTRAINTBOTTLENECKSBRIBESBUDGET MANAGEMENTBUDGETINGBUSBUS SYSTEMBUSESBUSINESS CENTERCAPACITY BUILDINGCAPITAL INFLOWSCASH TRANSFERCASH TRANSFERSCLIMATE CHANGECOMMERCIAL BANKSCOMMERCIAL CREDITCOMMUTER RAILCONGESTIONCORRUPTIONCREDIBILITYCREDIT LINESCULTURAL DIVERSITYCURRENCYCURRENT ACCOUNTCURRENT ACCOUNT DEFICITDEBT ISSUANCEDEFAULTSDEPOSITSDEVELOPMENT BANKDISABILITIESDISPARITIES IN ACCESSDIVERSIFICATIONDOMESTIC BANKSDOMESTIC CAPITALDOMESTIC CAPITAL MARKETDRAINAGEDRIVINGECONOMIC ACTIVITIESECONOMIC ACTIVITYECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTSECONOMIC GROWTHECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIESEDUCATION DEVELOPMENTEDUCATION SYSTEMEDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENTEMERGENCY RESPONSEENDOWMENTSENERGY CONSUMPTIONENROLLMENTENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITYETHNIC GROUPSEXCHANGE RATEEXPENDITUREEXPENDITURESEXPLOITATIONEXTERNAL DEBTEXTERNAL DEFICITEXTREME POVERTYFAMILIESFINANCIAL CRISISFINANCIAL INSTITUTIONSFINANCIAL MANAGEMENTFINANCIAL MARKETSFINANCIAL SAFETYFINANCIAL SECTOR ASSESSMENTFINANCIAL SECTOR REGULATIONFINANCIAL SERVICESFINANCIAL STATEMENTSFISCAL DEFICITFISCAL POLICIESFISCAL POLICYFIXED INVESTMENTFOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTFOREIGN EXCHANGEFOREIGN FINANCINGFUELFUEL COSTGAS EMISSIONSGENDERGENDER ASSESSMENTGENDER EQUALITYGENDER ROLESGENDERSGOVERNMENT REGULATIONGOVERNMENT SPENDINGGROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCTGROWTH OPPORTUNITIESGUARANTEE AGENCYHIGH ENERGYHIGHWAYHIGHWAYSHOLDINGHOUSEHOLDSHUMAN CAPITALINCOME GROUPSINCOME GROWTHINCOME INEQUALITYINCOME LEVELINFLATIONINFLATION RATESINFORMATION SHARINGINFORMATION SYSTEMINFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTSINFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTSINSTITUTIONAL CAPACITYINSTITUTIONAL REFORMSINSTRUMENTINTELLECTUAL PROPERTYINTEREST PAYMENTSINTEREST RATESINTERNAL AUDITINTERNATIONAL BANKINTERNATIONAL FINANCEINTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL SYSTEMINTERNATIONAL STANDARDSINVESTMENT ALLOCATIONINVESTMENT PLANINVESTMENT PORTFOLIOINVESTMENT PROJECTSINVESTMENT RATESJUDICIAL INDEPENDENCEKEY CHALLENGESLABOR FORCE PARTICIPATIONLABOR MARKETLAND USELEGAL FRAMEWORKLOANLOCAL DEBTMACROECONOMIC ENVIRONMENTMACROECONOMIC STABILITYMASS TRANSITMETRO RAILMICROFINANCEMONETARY FUNDMONETARY POLICYMONEY LAUNDERINGMONEY SUPPLYMULTIMODAL TRANSPORTNATIONAL SAVINGSNATURAL DISASTERSOPEN ECONOMYPEDESTRIANPEDESTRIAN ACCIDENTPENSIONPEOPLESPLEDGESPOLICY DESIGNPORTFOLIOPORTFOLIO PERFORMANCEPRICE MOVEMENTSPRIVATE FINANCINGPRIVATE INVESTMENTPRIVATE INVESTMENTSPROPERTY RIGHTSPUBLIC DEBTPUBLIC DEBT MANAGEMENTPUBLIC FUNDSPUBLIC INVESTMENTPUBLIC INVESTMENTSPUBLIC TRANSITPUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICERAIL SUBSIDIESREGULATORY FRAMEWORKREGULATORY FRAMEWORKSRETURNRETURNSRISK MANAGEMENTROADROAD INFRASTRUCTUREROAD PROJECTSROADSROUTESSAFETYSAFETY NETSSANITATIONSOCIAL INEQUALITIESSOCIAL RESPONSIBILITYSUSTAINABLE MOBILITYTAXTAX REVENUETAX SYSTEMTECHNICAL ASSISTANCETELECOMMUNICATIONSTOLLSTOTAL DEBTTRADE BALANCETRADE FINANCETRADINGTRAFFICTRANSFER PAYMENTSTRANSITTRANSIT AUTHORITIESTRANSIT INVESTMENTSTRANSIT SYSTEMTRANSPARENCYTRANSPORTTRANSPORT COSTSTRANSPORT INVESTMENTTRANSPORT PLANNINGTRANSPORT SECTORTRANSPORTATIONTRAVEL TIMETREASURYTREATIESUNEMPLOYMENTURBAN AREASURBAN DEVELOPMENTURBAN MOBILITYURBAN TRANSPORTURBAN TRANSPORT SYSTEMVULNERABLE GROUPSWEALTHCountry Partnership Framework for the Republic of Panama for the Period FY15-FY21ReportWorld Bank10.1596/23123
