This year the focus is on the damage from climate change and carbon dioxide emissions. As this focus shows, global warming can have negative effects on agriculture, health, infrastructure, and other economic activities effects that are likely to hit developing countries the hardest. While high-income countries emit more carbon dioxide than developing countries, emissions from developing countries are growing at a faster pace. And emissions per capita in high income countries are still five times higher than in developing countries.CC BY 3.0 IGOADULT MORTALITYBIODIVERSITYBIODIVERSITY ENERGYBIOMASSCARBONCARBON DIOXIDECARBON DIOXIDE EMISSIONSCARBON FERTILIZATIONCATASTROPHIC EVENTSCENSUSESCLIMATECLIMATE CHANGECOCO2DEFORESTATIONDEVELOPING COUNTRIESDISABILITYELECTRICITYEMISSIONEMISSIONSEMISSIONS FROM ENERGYEMISSIONS GROWTHEMISSIONS OBLIGATIONSEMISSIONS TARGETSENERGY EMISSIONSENERGY USEFLOODSFORESTFOREST AREAFORESTRYFORESTSFOSSILFOSSIL FUELFRAMEWORK CONVENTION ON CLIMATE CHANGEGLOBAL WARMINGGREENHOUSEGREENHOUSE GASGREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONSGREENHOUSE GASESGROSS NATIONAL INCOMEHEATHOUSEHOLD SURVEYSHYDROPOWERIMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGELAND USELAND USE CHANGELEVELS OF EMISSIONSLIVE BIRTHSMALARIAMEMBER STATESMILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALSMORTALITY RATEOILOIL EQUIVALENTPARTICULATEPARTICULATE EMISSIONPARTICULATE MATTERPHPOLLUTIONPOPULATION DENSITYPOWERPOWER CONSUMPTIONPOWER GENERATIONPROGRESSPUBLIC DISCOURSERURAL POPULATIONSANITATIONSEA LEVELSPECIESSTORMSURBAN POPULATIONURBAN POPULATION GROWTHUSE PER CAPITAWASTEWINDWORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATIONWORLD POPULATIONThe Little Green Data Book 2008World Bank10.1596/978-0-8213-7399-6
