Specific objectives are: (i) to increase gender-sensitive programming in D&R operations in the GLR by better addressing the gender-differentiated needs of male and female combatants; and (ii) to generate knowledge and good practices on how to address gender and conflict issues, with a focus on learning initiatives addressing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), vulnerable women, and young men at risk in Sub-Saharan Africa. This study pertains to generating knowledge on gender sensitivity in D&R programming. The study aimed to determine: (i) the extent to which the results of the intervention had been sustained by individual beneficiaries and associations, (ii) the related role of support provided through the pilot project, and (iii) the well-being of beneficiaries relative to the rest of the community, more specifically in comparison with ex-combatants supported by the Program National de Desarmement, Demobilisation, et Reinsertion (PNDDR) but not eligible for participation in the pilot project.en-USCC BY 3.0 IGOACCESS TO HEALTHACCESS TO HEALTH SERVICESACCESS TO INFORMATIONARMED CONFLICTARMED FORCESBEATINGCOMMUNITIESCONFLICTCONTROL GROUPSDEMOBILIZATIONDESCRIPTIONDISSEMINATIONDOMESTIC VIOLENCEECONOMIC INDICATORSECONOMIC REINTEGRATIONECONOMIC SITUATIONECONOMIC STATUSELECTIONSEQUALITYEX-COMBATANTEX-COMBATANTSEXCOMBATANTSEXTENDED FAMILYFEMALEFEMALE COMBATANTSFEMALESFOCUS GROUP DISCUSSIONSGENDERGENDER PERSPECTIVEGENDER SENSITIVITYGENDER SENSITIZATIONGIRLSHEALTH-CARE SERVICESHOME OWNERSHIPHOME VISITSHOMESHOUSEHOLD ASSETSHOUSEHOLD BUDGETHOUSEHOLD LEVELHOUSEHOLD SIZEHOUSEHOLDSHUSBANDSINCOMEINCOME-GENERATING ACTIVITIESINTERNATIONAL BANKINTERNATIONAL COMMUNITYINTERVENTIONKNOWLEDGE ON GENDERLAND OWNERSHIPLEARNINGLITERACY RATESLOCAL RADIO STATIONSM&E ACTIVITIESMARITAL STATUSMEETINGMEN AT RISKMOSQUITO NETMOSQUITO NETSMOTHERNATIONSNGONONGOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONNONGOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONSPASPEACEPILOT PROJECTPOSTERSPRACTITIONERSPROGRAMSPROGRESSPROJECT BENEFICIARIESPROJECT IMPLEMENTATIONPURCHASING POWERQUALITATIVE INFORMATIONQUALITATIVE RESEARCHRADIORECONCILIATIONRECONSTRUCTIONRETENTION RATESCHOOL ATTENDANCESEXSEXUAL VIOLENCESEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASESOCIAL DEVELOPMENTSOCIAL IMPACTSOCIAL INDICATORSSOCIAL REINTEGRATIONSOCIAL STATUSSPOUSESPOUSESSTDTARGETINGTRAININGSUNDPUNFPAUNITED NATIONSUNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMEUNPLANNED PREGNANCIESVIOLENCEVIOLENCE AGAINST WOMENVULNERABILITYVULNERABLE GROUPSWIDOWSWOMANYOUNG MENReintegration Opportunities for Vulnerable Households of Ex-Combatants Demobilized through PNDDR : An Overview of the Socioeconomic Situation of Pilot Project Beneficiaries Two Years Following Project Closure - Maniema, Democratic Republic of Congo10.1596/17859
