dc.description.abstract	The note examines the experience of self-developed technologies by farmer experimenters (FEs) in Honduras, based on a study by the Association of Advisors for a Sustainable, Ecological, and People-Centered Agriculture - COSECHA - and shows how FEs are capable of developing large numbers of significant, and original technologies, providing evidence that the collecting, and dissemination of FEs technologies in other nations, could be useful for institutions involved in agricultural development. The note further explores the participatory technology development, the results to date of the technologies discovered, and those promising technologies to be developed.	en

This document provides a summary assessment of (presented) scaled-up crediting instruments as well as existing project-based crediting schemes against a number of important general characteristics of such instruments. Its purpose is to provide insights that may inform the design and use of possible scaled-up crediting instruments. The country opinion survey in Brazil assists the World Bank Group (WBG) in gaining a better understanding of how stakeholders in Brazil perceive the WBG. It provides the WBG with systematic feedback from national and local governments, multilateral and bilateral agencies, media, academia, the private sector, and civil society in Brazil on: (1) their views regarding the general environment in Brazil; (2) their overall attitudes toward the WBG in Brazil; (3) overall impressions of the WBG’s effectiveness and results, knowledge work and activities, and communication and information sharing in Brazil; and (4) their perceptions of the WBG’s future role in Brazil.

Migrating to Opportunity : Overcoming Barriers to Labor Mobility in Southeast Asia

The movement of people in Southeast Asia is an issue of increasing importance. Countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are now the origin of 8 percent of the world's migrants. These countries host only 4 percent of the world's migrants but intra-regional migration has turned Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand into regional migration hubs that are home to 6.5 million ASEAN migrants. However, significant international and domestic labor mobility costs limit the ability of workers to change firms, sectors, and geographies in ASEAN. This report takes an innovative approach to estimate the costs for workers to migrate internationally. Singapore and Malaysia have the lowest international labor mobility costs in ASEAN while workers migrating to Myanmar and Vietnam have the highest costs. Singapore and Malaysia's more developed migration systems are a key reason for their lower labor mobility costs.
