Abstract
This short country report, a result of larger Information for Development Program (infoDev) - supported survey of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education in Africa, provides a general overview of current activities and issues related to ICT use in education in the country. The Gambia has seen tremendous developments in ICTs over the past few years. Progress has been made in telecommunications, yet the full impact of ICTs in the education sector is still yet to be realized and a draft policy is yet to be finalized. In those areas where progress has been made, the role of Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) has been a key.Citation
